Private tax return Switzerland 2022 – Do you own property in Switzerland? Do you need assistance filing yours? Do you need an extension to file after March?

In most cantons, the individual tax return has to be handed in before March 31st. However, upon request, submission extension can be granted until September.

When it comes to filing private tax return, apart from basic information such as salaries, marital status, loans and debts, there is more info you might want to declare, either to get deductions, or make sure you don’t get taxed on assets in the future. Here are some examples of them:

  • Your real estates in Switzerland and overseas, its income and expenses

  • Non-cash assets such as shares, precious metals, gold, crypto currencies

  • Dividends received

  • Donations

  • Major medical costs that are not covered by the medical insurance
