Switzerland Ranked 5th in the World for Fintech

At the start of 2020, Findexable published the Global Fintech Index 2020 which shows the top jurisdictions having a major impact on and drive the fintech industry forward. Switzerland is ranked the 5th fintech country, inferior to the USA, UK, Singapore and Lithuania.

The ranking is based on countries that actively improve digital banking, digital payments, payments security, blockchain and cryptocurrency, etc.

More specifically, the canton of Zug was selected as the Fintech Capital of Switzerland. Fintech in Zug has been fast emerging during the past 2 years. The canton is also famous for being Europe’s “crypto-valley” as it focuses on fintech and crypto-related startups, new ideas and new innovations. The Swiss government put a spotlight on the canton by reducing the corporate tax rate to 11.90 %, which is one of the lowest rates in Europe, for companies located in canton Zug.
