Whilst ‘in liquidation’, the company must maintain: a registered address in Switzerland and a Swiss resident director/board member as well as to hand in tax returns. Unlike active companies, for companies in liquidation, the tax office will check through tax filings and calculate a final tax for payment. Once the company has settled all open taxes and received final confirmation from the tax office, the company can be dissolved. F Trust, as the liquidator of the company, will contact the liquidation authorities and ask to delete the company as well as answer additional questions. The liquidation process usually lasts from 6 months to a year, depending on how fast all outstandings of the company, especially tax bills, are settled and any additional documents signed.

If your company rents physical premises to run the business and has it as a registered address, you might want to consider a domicile and post-forwarding service from F Trust for the duration of the liquidation, as a cost saving..
