Bridging Loans for Companies in Switzerland

Due to the economic consequences of the COVID-19 epidemic, the Swiss government is supporting companies in Switzerland with liquidity by providing bridging loans to companies affected by Covid-19.


CONDITIONS FOR COMPANIES TO RECEIVE THE LOANS: THE COMPANY MUST

  • Be registered before March 2020

  • Have its domicile in Switzerland

  • Be affected by covid-19 situation

  • Currently be in need of funds for preventing the business from going into liquidation or bankruptcy


2 TYPES OF BRIDGING LOANS OFFERED BY THE SWISS GOVERNMENT:

COVID-19-CREDIT up to CHF 500’000

The bridging loan will be calculated from the yearly turnover of 2018 and 2019 of the company. The company can get a loan up to 10% of its yearly turnover, but not more than CHF 500’000. The interest rate on this loan is currently 0% and is fully guaranteed by the federal government. Only one application for a COVID 19 loan can be submitted to a bank per company.

COVID-19-CREDIT from CHF 500’000 to CHF 20 Million

For bridging loans exceeding the amount of CHF 500,000, but not more than CHF 20 million, there are further requirements on bank audit. Such loans are 85% secured by the federal government at the interest rate of 0.5%. The lending bank contributes the other 15% of the loan.
